Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav

The flagship programme of the Prime Minister of India, “Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav” was officially launched in the College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Central Agricultural University, ranipool, Gangtok, Sikkim on the September 19, 2015n, Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences while addressing the ‘Kisan Gosthi’, stressed that India should be made “Krishak Pradhan Desh” instead of ‘Krishi Pradhan Desh”. He said that ‘Farmers first’ should be the motto of all activities. Dr. Paroda said that Progressive farmers must be exposed to the industries for the better linkages with the secondary economical activities and urged to give more emphasis on the small farmers for all the activities under the government institutions.

Prof. M. Premjit Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur highlighted the technological achievements of the university and gave emphasis on the adoption of these successful technologies in Sikkim and other state of NEH region. He also emphasized on the close linkages between the University and the farmers through ‘Kisan Gosthi’.

On this occasion, two publications written by Professor M. Premjit Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur and Prof. P. K. Srivatsva, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Ranipool, Gangtok, Sikkim were also released by Dr. R.S. Paroda.
