The College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Ranipool, Gangtok is actively involved in various extension education activities related to promotion of farm mechanization, soil and water conservation and water management including micro-irrigation and protected cultivation, post harvest management, agro/food processing and value addition, utilization of agricultural residues and by-products/biomass for feed, manure, fibre etc. and utilization of renewable sources of energy viz solar, and biomass. The college regularly organizes programmes like sensitization-cum-awareness generation, front line demonstrations, on-farm trials and field days, short term training programmes and vocational training programmes for capacity building of various stake holders such as farmers, farm women, rural youth, school drop outs, rural artisans, extension officials from state governments and KVKs, and personnel from NGOs/SHGs.
